Put Stations on your home screen
You already have Chrome. If something opens the Play Store and says “install Chrome”, cancel that — it’s a broken old shortcut, not the real app.
1. Remove the broken old icon
- Long-press the old Stations / Station Engine icon on your home screen
- Choose Remove / Delete / trash
- If it still exists under the app drawer as a “web app”, long-press → App info → Uninstall (this only removes the web shortcut, not Chrome)
2. Open the real site in Chrome
- Open Chrome (the browser you already have)
- Go to:
https://stations.rockxchat.duckdns.org - Stay on that tab for a few seconds (lets the service worker register)
3. Add to home screen (current Chrome on Android)
Wording varies by Chrome version:
- Tap the ⋮ menu (top right)
- Look for one of these (any is fine):
- Add to Home screen
- Install app
- Save and share → Install app / Add to Home screen
- If it only offers Create shortcut — use that. It still opens Stations full-screen enough for truck use.
- Name it Stations → Add
Do not tap anything that only says Install Chrome / Get Chrome in Play Store.
4. If Chrome still won’t offer it
- Samsung Internet (often easier): menu → Add page to → Home screen
- Firefox: menu → Install / Add to Home screen
- Or just bookmark the page and pin the bookmark — works for requests/blocks
5. You don’t need a PWA for radio this week
Symfonium already has the playlists. This site is only for request/block/refresh. A normal Chrome tab or bookmark is enough until the weekend.
